Robinson Crusoe in Words of One Syllable CD 1 -- steno speed building drills
This is the first CD. It covers, naturally, the first section of the book.

As you are burning up the steno keys, these questions will be burning through your psyche: What the heck is he going to do next? How will he get out of this mess? Why does he keep going back to sea if his boats always sink?

You will find this to be a set of drills that will teach you to have rhythm and control. Your success at these drills will depend on whether you can competently write your basic theory strokes -- stroke after stroke -- minute after minute. Hey, that is the mark of a great reporter, isn't it? Cool!!

Robinson Crusoe In Words of One Syllable was written by MARY GODOLPHIN (1781-1864). Her book, naturally, was based on the original Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe (1661-1731).

Ms. Godolphin does slip in a few multi-syllable words. These are limited to a few names and numbers. Additionally, in Ms. Godolphin's day, words such as daytime, Northwest and stateroom were not one word. They were two separate words. We have remained faithful to her text, and they remain as two words.

This is an extremely interesting book. If you would like to read it, the text to the entire book is included on the CD. You may also want to use the book to reference the spelling of such words as "baize," "rusks" and "durst." There are not very many words like that in the drills. Generally, the book reads as if it was written in modern times.

13 drills in MP3 format.

Each drill is two minutes long.

Each drill is recorded at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, and 200 words per minute.
